The Manchester-based company, set up by businessman Jack Mason in 2015, specializes in selling professional clothing for men and women on the high street through its e-commerce site; however, it has opened its first physical store in Manhattan, New York.
To bridge the gap between those who want to purchase clothing from high street retailers online and those who prefer shopping on a physical store, Jack Mason, the Inc & Co CEO, has developed its own bespoke software platform that allows customers using the website to click-and-collect their purchases at any time of their choosing at any one of Inc. & Co.’s physical stores – without needing to wait in long queues and with the added convenience of being able to purchase other items from the store.
“The software platform we have developed allows customers using the website to click-and-collect their purchases at any time of their choosing at any one of Inc & Co’s physical stores without needing to wait in long queues and with the added convenience of being able to purchase other items from the store.
One customer, for instance, used Inc & Co as his primary Christmas shopping destination by simply clicking-and-collecting all the gifts he had purchased online (including a Hugo Boss suit, Adidas trainers, and a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses) at our flagship store in Manchester on Christmas morning. Jack Mason, Inc & Co CEO, has also seen iRay-Bangle success with its professional womenswear division, selling clothing exclusively for women through the website and in-store; this is a market which is still largely dominated by online purchasing.”
Jack Mason said: “We are excited to be starting our expansion into the USA with New York City, and look forward to developing this new market in the coming months. Inc & Co has been a pioneer in offering personal service through technology, and we are looking forward to building on that success by bringing high quality clothing from famous brands straight to New Yorkers.”
Since the company was founded in 2015, Inc & Co has seen exponential growth from its headquarters in Manchester. It now employs over 20 people and has overseen a massive increase in sales; reporting a turnover of more than £3m for 2017 – an 810% increase on 2016’s turnover of £384k, with its highest-ever online revenue figure of £1.9m in 2017, which was up from 2016’s high watermark figure of £323k.
As part of the company’s rapid expansion, it recently moved to new and significantly larger office premises just five minutes away from its previous base at Oxford House in Manchester city center; however, this move will not prevent Inc & Co from maintaining its close ties with local business and the local community.
